Pernell Marsden Production Designer | Art Director
ABOUT:
Pernell is a production designer who has worked in the film industry in Australia and the UK since 2012. She began her film career in the assistant directing and production departments, where she worked on productions for Disney and the BBC.
In 2019, she graduated with a Master of Production Design for Screen at The Victorian College of the Arts and in 2021 earned a place in the VicScreen professional attachment program, shadowing production designer Chris Kennedy on Paramount+ series Shantaram.
In 2023, Pernell earned her first production design credit for a feature film on the upcoming Australian film Strange Creatures, later that year, she received the APDG award for Best Emerging Designer for Screen for her work on the film Small and, most recently, IF Magazine named Pernell in their 2024 Rising Talent List in the Production Designer category.
Pernell is currently working across narrative and commercial worlds because her grandma told her that variety is the spice of life.
